ROUND BY ROUND SPECIFICS

Overview

Contestants in the Real World: Season 22 online casting audition will be required to upload a mixture of videos, photos and short essays (blogs) about themselves to convince the public to vote them onto the show.  The online audition will be divided into four rounds:

Round 1 – Meet and Greet (October 8 – November 11)

Round 2 – Narrowing it Down (November 12 – November 23)

Round 3 – Roommate Roundup (November 24 – December 2)

Round 4 – The Move In (December 3 – December 10)

Round Details

Round 1 – Meet and Greet

October 8 – November 11

Open call, all submissions accepted until 9PM EST on November 11.

50% remain after first round, based on votes from site users. 

• Upload at least 1 video which covers the following:
• A bit about yourself.  Who are you?  Name, age, occupation, hometown, etc.
• Describe why you would be a good housemate and an entertaining and engaging TV personality.  
• Upload at least 3 photos of yourself (one must be a clear headshot).
• Write at least one blog entry detailing the following: If you were cast on the RW, what would your family be surprised to learn about you? Which of your activities or behaviors would you NOT want your family to see on TV?

Round 2 – Narrowing it Down

November 12 – November 23

Open call, all submissions accepted until 9PM EST on November 23.

Top 50 vote getters remain after second round, based on votes from site users.  

• Upload at least 2 new videos which cover the following:
• What is your ultimate career goal? Would you pursue this goal while on the show? How?
• Describe and show a special skill you have that sets you apart from the rest of the hopefuls.
• Write at least 1 blog detailing your worst fear.  How do you think you would react if you were forced to confront this fear?

Round 3 – Roommate Roundup

November 24 – December 2

During Round 3, the top 50 will each get a phone interview with show Producers. Top 5 vote getters from round 3 move on to round 4. An additional 5 ‘wild card’ users will be selected by the Producers regardless of vote count. These ‘Wild Card’ Interviews can happen at any time, so just because you don’t have the most votes doesn’t mean you’re out of the race.  10 total users will compete in round 4!

• Upload at least 2 new videos which cover the following
• Describe one personality trait or quirk that you would be embarrassed to admit or display on camera.
• Who are your heroes and why?
• Write at least 1 blog entry detailing your religious affiliation and how your religion (or lack thereof) plays a part in your life and affects your actions.

Round 4 – The Move In

December 3 – December 10

The number one vote getter (who meets eligibility requirements) will get a spot on the show.  This is a blind voting round, meaning all vote counts will be hidden from public view.

• Upload at least 2 new videos which cover the following:
• Introduce the person (or pet!) you would miss the most if you were cast on the show.  Describe why they are so important to you and how you met. 
• Describe a major event or issue that has affected your family and how you dealt with it. 
• Write at least one blog entry describing your best and worst qualities, and how you think these may affect your behavior on the show and in the house.
