Mi Familia

I lived with my grandfather, aunt, cousin, mom and sister for most of middle and high school. I kid you not, my family could be a sitcom. Here's a typical weekday dinner:

Aunt Ally: "John (my cousin), I thought I told you to stop texting at the dinner table!"

John: "I'm not texting...god!" (...he says while blatantly continuing to text with one hand)

Aunt Ally: "Boy, I'm not going to repeat myself! Do you want me to take your phone!? (she will likely repeat herself 3 more times and has no intention of taking his phone)

John: "God! Can't everyone just eat!"

Poppy (my grandfather): "Don't talk to your mother like that. Boy you're not too old for a beating. Where's my stick!?"

Aunt Ally: "Don't talk to him like that you old evil bag. I bet you don't talk to people like that in church!"

Poppy: "I can talk however I damn well please! Until you start paying some of the bills around here don't tell me how to act!"

They will continue to argue for the next 15 minutes. John, in the meantime, has never stopped texting.

I could seriously go on all day, but I think you get the idea. My mom and I just laugh most nights. I love 'em to death, but can only go home for one week at a time!
